Women's Volleyball

For the eighth straight season, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team reached the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The #12-seeded Lancers though are still trying to break through the hurdle of reaching the regional Round 3 finals after a disappointing 3-set loss at #5 Santa Monica, 25-23, 25-21, 25-21, in Round 2 on Tuesday night.

Women's Volleyball

After seeing a 7-match win streak stopped and first place in the South Coast Conference North Division standings taken away in a 5-set loss at state #12-ranked Mt. San Antonio on Oct. 8, the #8 Pasadena City College women's volleyball team went back to work with a sweep over host East Los Angeles, 25-20, 25-13, 25-13, on Friday night.

After moving up to #8 on the State Top 25 Rankings, the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team continued to use the power of the serve to extend a sets win streak to 21 in a row, collecting its seventh straight sweep over Rio Hondo, 21-9, 21-17, 21-17, on Friday night.

The state #10 Pasadena City College women's volleyball team served a season-high 15 aces in recording the Lancers' fifth straight sweep, 25-6, 25-15, 15-14, over Los Angeles Harbor on Friday night. The victory upped PCC's record to 11-3 and sparkling Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium home record to 9-1.

After being a key hitter during the 2021 South Coast Conference championship season, Sabiya Esquivel took time off from the sport only to return this season as a role player for the '25 Lancers. On Wednesday, she had her best performance as a sophomore in hammering 10 kills and landing two aces in state #10-ranked PCC's fourth consecutive sweep over El Camino, 25-14, 25-20, 25-21, at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

On all cylinders of late, the state #10-ranked Pasadena City College women's volleyball team is utilizing its entire roster and welcomed back top middle blocker Delaney Blied to the lineup in the Lancers' third straight sweep, 25-12, 25-18, 25-16, over visting Cerritos College on Friday afternoon.

Often brought in at the same time as a pair in situational subbing this season, freshman setter JanetMarie Reyes and sophomore opposite Mahrie Bedjakian got a chance to start on Friday. Both took advantage of the opportunity as they helped the state #9 Pasadena City College women's volleyball team sweep Irvine Valley, 25-11, 25-19, 25-19, at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.
